Sustainable Food Edmonton is a non-profit charitable organization who initiates and supports projects and programs to encourage the building of community through urban agriculture. We connect communities and kids with their food, how it’s produced, and the planet that makes it all possible.

Sustainable Food Edmonton was a finalist for the 25th Annual Emerald Awards in 2016.

Our Purpose

Sustainable Food Edmonton's vision is to ensure Edmontonians benefit from urban agriculture. Our mission is to initiate and support projects and programs to encourage the building of community through urban agriculture.


Our History

In 1989, Sustainable Food Edmonton started as the Personal Community Support Association, a non-profit charitable organization. By 2011, we had changed our name to Sustainable Food Edmonton to better reflect our programs and work in the community.

Our Board of Directors is comprised of accomplished professionals and passionate community members in and around the Capital Region.  Our directors provide strategic governance and champion our vision of raising awareness through education that results in communities engaged in healthy food and a healthy planet.


Our Staff

We depend on our amazing and dedicated staff to deliver our programs and ensure the needs of the communities are being met. Each team member bring years of experience in each of their fields to deliver rich and educational programming.
