Beans, Beans, Beans – International Year of the Pulses 2016

WindsorPark1.jpg

2016 has been declared the International Year of Pulses. Not only are dried beans, peas, lentils, and chickpeas a healthy and sustainable food source, they are also wonderful plants for children to grow. They are fast growers and their seeds and plants are easy to hold and handle for small hands. The lovely flowers turn into long green, yellow, or purple beans – what a magical wonder of nature.

Many Little Green Thumbs classes grow beans and love how easy they are to grow.
