Reclaim Urban Farm
Reclaim Urban Farm is looking for a passionate and hard working individual to join their team as a part time urban farm assistant. This position will include tasks such as harvesting (indoor and/or outdoors), prepping orders for their restaurant deliveries and farmers market, cleaning their indoor grow space and washing trays, and selling at the market.
They are looking for someone who is quick on their feet, enjoys manual labour, and has an eye for detail. This position is a part time, casual position with the potential to become full time in Spring/Summer of 2017.
Qualifications & Skills
Ability to work quickly with an eye for detail and precision
Previous experience with manual labour is ideal; must be able to stand for long periods of time, perform physical labour on a daily basis, and regularly lift upwards of 25kg
Ability to work independently and as a positive member of a team
Reliable, hardworking, and dedicated
Experience in food prep, farming, or market gardening is an asset
Food safety certification is an asset
Interest in urban agriculture and passionate about sustainable food systems
Details
15 to 25 hours per week
Mandatory work days: Wednesdays and Thursdays, plus 2 to 3 Saturdays per month
Hours: approximately 8am to 3pm
$14/hour
Potential for full time hours starting in Spring 2017
Start time: immediately
Reclaim Urban Farm is a multi-locational urban farm located in the heart of Edmonton. They grow a variety of leafy greens and vegetables outdoors from May to October and produce micro greens and shoots year round in an indoor grow space located within the SPUD.ca warehouse.
