Updates to the Community Garden Grants!

SFE is pleased to announce some changes to our Community Garden Grants.  We listened to feedback that our application process should be streamlined and more transparent.  Clear, easy to follow guidelines for our grants are now available on our website, as are grant application forms. We have divided the grants into 4 streams:

1.     New Community Garden Grant

2.     Expansion or Renovation Grant

3.      Pilot Project Grant [NEW]

4.     Emergency Funds Grant[NEW]

The Pilot Project Grant is great for communities to launch a smaller-scale, temporary garden project to learn while building interest and involvement.

The Emergency Funds Grant is to provide help when the unexpected happens, and repairs or replacements are needed.

Instead of ongoing intake, we now have two intake periods per year. The first intake deadline is February 28, 2017, and the second is May 31, 2017.  Please note these deadlines are not hard and fast when it comes to the Emergency Funds Grant. There’s no way to predict when you’ll need it, and we understand that.

SFE is also happy to announce our 24th Annual Community Garden Potluck on Saturday, March 4, 2017.  It will be held at the Edmonton Food Bank Annex, located at 11434-120 St. Come join us for great gardening information, delicious food and fellowship. We’ll also have a free seed giveaway for Associate Garden Members. Not a member or need to renew? We’ll have memberships available for only $10.
